Demarlo Smith did reply with two minutes to go but it wasn’t enough.

Kent Athletic earned a 3-2 victory over Oxhey Jets in the first round of the Reserve Challenge Trophy.

It was a fine team performance from Kent, with goals coming from Chris Devane, Wayne Hymus and Timitayo Akerele seeing them through to the next round.

Crawley Green thumped Aston Clinton 5-0 in Reserve Division Two as Anthony Wright netted his second hat-trick of the season alongside goals from Glen Freeman and skipper Jamie Sawyer, while Totternhoe won 1-0 at Stony Stratford Town.

Totts head to Willen in Division Two this weekend, in Reserve Division One AFC Dunstable host Baldock Town, The 61 FC (Luton) head to Cockfosters and Kent Athletic visit Stotfold, while in Reserve Division Two Totternhoe entertain Aston Clinton and Crawley Green go to Winslow United.

And on Tuesday The 61 FC (Luton) go to Holmer Green in Reserve Division One.
