The summer signing had joined on a free from Colchester United, where he missed most of last season due to an serious Achilles injury.

He then had to be rushed back into the Luton side due to injuries, where he found it tough going early on, with a number of shaky displays.

However, during Saturday’s goalless draw with Cambridge, his eighth appearance for the Hatters, he looked back to his old self, particularly aerially and when asked if he felt it was best showing in a Luton shirt so far, he said: “Definitely, I feel better, I’ve said before, it was tough as I’ve been fit then I’ve got injured.

“I went to Hartlepool, came back injured and was out for a long time.

“I probably started playing before I would have liked to but because of injuries, I had to play and I probably didn’t do myself justice.

“But I’ve worked hard and made sure I’ve stayed fit and hopefully that’s my standard.

“It was hard to look in the mirror after some early games that I played, just because I didn’t feel right, my body didn’t feel right.

“But I felt good and hopefully I can keep that going.

“I’m not going to get over excited or carried away but I felt like I did prior to my injury a year ago, so hopefully I can keep getting stronger and stronger.”
