AFC Hayes 3 Barton Rovers 1

Barton Rovers went down 3-1 at in-form AFC Hayes in their Evo-Stik Southern League Division One Central clash on Saturday.

Despite Barton controlling possession, it was the home side who went ahead when a counter attack from a corner saw isolated keeper Richard Wilmot beaten.

Rovers stepped up a gear and drew level when Bobby Dance sent Phil Smeaton clear, and he rifled a fierce shot into the roof of the net.

Barton got caught on the break once more moments before the interval as they found themselves 2-1 down.

With minutes remaining, Hayes wrapped up all three points with their third and final counter attack.

Rovers are at home to Fleet Town on Saturday.
