Rovers on wrong end of eight-goal thriller

St Neots 5 Barton Rovers 3

BARTON Rovers fell to their first away defeat in five matches as they were beaten 5-3 by Evo-Stik Southern League Division One Central big spenders St Neots Town on Monday.

In front of the division’s biggest crowd of the season, 438, Rovers were without striker Russell Bull, but manager Dan Kennoy still named an attack-minded line-up, with Theo Swaine and Dave Parkinson both starting in a 4-3-3 formation.

It was the home side that opened the scoring though as former Aston Villa and QPR striker Stefan Moore’s shot was adjudged to have crossed the line.
