Rovers ready for underdog role

Barton Rovers’ joint boss Wes Byrne is preparing to be the underdogs for a change when his side visit Ryman League Premier Division side Margate in the FA Cup second qualifying round on Saturday.

He said: “Saturday’s game at Margate will be completely different from our two previous rounds where we were clear favourites.

“This time we can enjoy going to the game with no pressure and hopefully the luck of the FA Cup might be with us.

“They are a very good team and have enjoyed a great start to the season.

“We will certainly be preparing for what will be our biggest game so far this season and I’m sure if we play like I know we can we might just surprise a few people.

“We will have all week to prepare for the game and it will be nice to get everyone together and concentrate on giving it our best shot.”
