Rovers snap up Putman from Ducks

Barton Rovers have snapped up the Southern League Division One Central’s top scorer Lewis Putman from Aylesbury United.

The striker has bagged 21 goals in the division this term, with 16 of them coming for Hanwell Town, who he left in November.

Having scored an incredible 81-goals for Oxhey Jets in the 2012/13 season, Putman moved to Wealdstone only for a serious knee injury to rule him out of most of the following season.

His first Barton action could be in Saturday’s trip to Chalfont St Peter.
