Sheehan and Potts are doubts for Newport clash

Hatters boss Nathan Jones will leave it late before seeing if influential defender Alan Sheehan is fit enough for tomorrow's League Two clash with Newport County at Kenilworth Road.

The summer signing from Bradford City hasn’t featured for Luton yet after leaving the field before kick off on the opening day at Plymouth Argyle.

On whether he will be available, Jones said: “It’s a late one on Sheehan, we haven’t pushed him because, one, he’s important to us in terms of longevity, but two, we’ve got good quality players to come in.

“So it’s a been a bit of niggly one, nothing serious, but he’s touch and go. We’re just taking every day as it come and we’ll see tomorrow.”

Full back Dan Potts is also a doubt for the clash too as Jones added: “Pottsy had a bit of a knock (against Yeovil) so we’ve got to see how he is.

“He’s missed one of the three games so far and that actually gave James Justin an opportunity and he took it really well so that was a blessing in disguise.

“Pottsy has done well though, he’s improving, he needs to keep doing that though as we want so much more from him.”
