SML round-up: Kent beat Bradwell as Totternhoe draw

Kent Athletic ground out a 3-0 victory over workmanlike Old Bradwell United in Molten Spartan SML Division Two on Saturday.

Kent started positively and controlled much of the first half, creating several chances.

Bradwell had a goal ruled out for offside, but the hosts finally took the lead two minutes into the second half through Jason Penman’s well-taken goal.

Simon Richards’ cross then enabled Shipla Miah to score his first goal for Kent on 74 minutes and Penman made sure of victory with a well taken second four minutes into stoppage time.

The 61FC (Luton) slipped to a 1-0 home defeat against Mursley United, Ben Brill netting the winner, while Totternhoe earned a 2-2 home draw against Willen.

R Guinnane (25) put the visitors ahead only for Ross Scott (32) to level.

J Pinnock scored on 37 minutes to give Willen the lead at the break, but S Baldry (64) struck to earn a point for the hosts.

In Reserve Division One, AFC Dunstable Res were thrashed 6-1 at home by St Margaretsbury Res and Kent Athletic Res went down to a 3-1 loss at London Colney Res, while in Reserve Division Two Crawley Green Res thrashed Old Bradwell United Res 6-0.

Jamie Rowlatt started the rout when his cross from the left was turned in by a Bradwell defender.

Further goals followed from Aaron Wilson (2), Jamie Sawyer, Anthony Wright and Adam Reid completed the rout.

On Saturday, Caddington host Aston Clinton, Kent Athletic entertain Wolverton Town, The 61 FC (Luton) go to Old Bradwell United and Totternhoe visit Tring Corinthians in Division Two.
