Town have been linked with a move for the Irish U21 defender after a successful loan spell at Kenilworth Road last term, in which he made 10 appearances for the club.

Boss Nathan Jones is a huge fan of the Seagulls youngster and has previously admitted he would be interested in a permanent deal, although a small fee would be involved as Brighton recently extended his contract by a year.

Speaking at the club’s kit launch, Marriott said: “He’s a great lad and a really talented footballer.

“It would be be great if we get to sign him and he’d be an excellent addition to the squad because he’s a great player and would certainly strengthen the squad.”

Young Hatters striker Zane Banton would be more than happy to see the deal go through too, adding: “I was very impressed with Glen and I didn’t realise how young he was.

“He played like he’s a lot older and has been around for a lot longer, so I was very surprised when I found out he was 21.

“He’s a very good player and it would be good if we could get him on board as well as he put in a number of good performances for us.”
