“To go through the entire season undefeated is a great feat and something that will be written in the history books.

“We are very proud that one of our senior clubs has gained promotion in this way and we will be honouring this occasion with a future presentation to the club.

“To all the players, club officials, volunteers and supporters, on behalf of Bedfordshire FA many congratulations.”

A total of 348 turned up to see the ‘invincibles’ crowned, and they are believed to be the first team in the SML’s history to have gone through the season unbeaten.

Having seen his team just miss out on the title last year to Royston, director of football John McLoughlin said: “There is no hidden agenda, all successful football clubs need people through the gate, it’s basic business acumen.

“We have also changed things behind the scenes to make sure we keep going towards our goals and, with eight new businessmen involved, it not only helps the club financially but everyone has a job to do and already we are reaping the rewards.

“In a nutshell come and see DTFC and look how far we have progressed in two years things can only get better.”
