Wembley dream realised by official Robathan

The 25-year-old, who moved to Dunstable from Surrey last year, has been officiating for 11 years and this was the pinnacle of his career so far.

He said: “It was a dream come true, to walk out at Wembley stadium, in the 150th year of The FA.

“Officiating the highest level cup final available to a Football League assistant referee was an honour and it has made me even more driven to progress to the higher levels of the game.

“It was the proudest moment in my referee career, to be able to walk out at Wembley in a game of such importance!”

Although Robathan had enjoyed another good campaign, he admitted the news did come as a bit of a surprise.

He continued: “My games in the Football League have been going well this year and when you are doing well, you are always in with a shout of the ‘plum’ appointments, but I didn’t expect to be appointed to the Vase final.”
