Youth Football round-up: Dunstable U15s ditch Barton

Doubles from Will Coote and Alex Beasley, plus goals from Michael Fullerton and Jake Kissiedu, saw Dunstable Town to a 6-2 victory at Barton Rovers in U15 Division One of the Chiltern Youth League.

Barton Rovers were held to a 3-3 draw by Shefford saints in U12 Division Two.

Rovers started the match strongly with an early goal from Matthew Potter.

Saints equalised before Harry Hudson delivered an excellent crossfield ball that Tyler Graham rifled into the net.

Shefford levelled again early in the second half and proceeded to take the lead, before Potter sprung the offside trap and slotted home from an acute angle to gain a point.

Barton’s man of the match went to Oli Dimmock for a fantastic midfield performance.

A devastating performance from Watling saw them hammer St Joseph’s 8-1 in Chiltern Junior Sevens League U12 Division One.

The visitors moved ahead when Dan Brown drilled home after good work from Louis Power, with the latter then making it 2-0 following a fine run by Josh Wilson.

An excellent finish from Harrison Nicholls saw Watling further ahead, before Brown added a second, although Jo’s pulled one back just before the break.

In the second period, a penalty was converted by Spencer O’Leary, while Adam Froom grabbed the sixth and player of the match Brown completed his hat-trick.

The eighth arrived through David Ilugbo, capping a majestic Watling display.

Barton Rovers Blues gained a well-deserved point from a 2-2 draw against Dunstable Town in an end-to-end U10 Division Three clash.

Rovers took an early lead from a terrific Jude Poulten free-kick, but Dunstable came back with goals either side of the break.

Barton had to defend well to stop the game getting away from them and snatched a last-minute equaliser when a great defensive clearance enabled Harry Milton to control and cross the ball in from the right for MOM Drew Hughes to smash home a fantastic goal into the roof of the net and gain Barton a point.

A brace from Jonathan De Lacerda and goals from Jack Keenan, Nathan Davies, Ben Clarke and Will Coote saw Dunstable Town to a 6-0 victory at AFC Luton in U15 Division One of the Bedfordshire Youth Saturday League.

Barton Rovers produced a superb performance to thrash Sundon Park Rangers 5-1 in their top-of-the table clash in U13 Division One.

Rovers dominated the game in the early stages with some fantastic attacking football, as a a first half Ashley Ingham hat-trick and an own goal saw Barton lead 4-1.

Barton then upped their game in the second half and cancelled out any threat from Sundon.

A one-on-one with the keeper resulted in the Sundon keeper handling the ball outside the area and the resulting free-kick was smashed home by Ben Chapman.

Barton’s star man was Kane O’Neil for a fantastic performance in defence.
