South Beds GC conquer Bedfordshire with double victory

This is the first time that the men and ladies have triumphed in the same year.

The ladies had an unassailable lead in the Bedfordshire Ladies Scratch League ahead of their final match against Bedford & County GC, but recorded another victory to remain unbeaten in 2013 and claim seven wins from seven games.

The Winter League saw a fantastic finale with the league going down to the final putt as South Beds overcame The Bedfordshire GC.

Sam Flannery, 15, held his nerve to roll in a fantastic putt from 20 feet to snatch the league title for South Beds.

The Summer League saw a dominant display from the team with the league being tied up after only four of the six league matches as South Beds won convincingly by four points.

In addition to securing both the Winter and Summer Bedfordshire Scratch Leagues in commanding fashion, South Beds also won the prestigious Leslie Randall Team Trophy and the Cissbury Salver, held at Worthing GC.
