HOCKEY: Awards night for Luton Town HC youngsters

Luton Town’s Junior section held their Annual presentation to mark the end of another season.

The Beginners Award went to Angelo Katsianis, while Most Improved went to Zack Grinsted, Kate Starkey and Hasnain Zaidi.

Indiana D’Cruz and Lauren Kempson took the Players Player Award, while Coaches Awards went to Ryan Siddons, Tom Quested and Emma Halsey, with Jack Ryan earning the Club Award and Antonio Katsianis the Goalkeeping Award.

The junior club is also saying goodbye to coach Chris Ryan, who has himself been playing since the age of 13, and with the club for 28 years.

He has undertaken many roles within the club; team captain, umpire, and for the past five years, junior coach.

Sunday training will start up again on September 13 for ages 5-13, but Kidz hockey continues at Challney Upper School Astro pitch on a Tuesday evening, 6.15pm start for children in Year 6 and above.
