HOCKEY: Luton ladies are triumphant

Luton Town Ladies enjoyed a 1-0 victory at Tring in their Five Counties Women’s League Premier Division encounter at the weekend courtesy of Hayley Huckle’s goal.

The seconds lost 2-0 at Chiltern IIs in Division Three and thhe thirds went down 6-0 at home to St Albans Vs in their first game of the Division Four season.

Luton’s men had a thrilling 5-2 home win over Chelmsford IIs in East Men’s League Division Two South.

Luton IIs were hefty 4-0 winners at Royston IIs in Division Four South West, while the IIIs team took on the IVs in what is believed to be the first time in the club’s history that two men’s sides have played each other in a competitive match, ending 3-3.

Chiltern HC Ladies opened their season with a fine 4-1 win at St Albans Bodiceas in Division Two of the Women’s Five Counties League on Saturday.

In Division Three, Chiltern IIs beat Luton Town IIs 2-0 with Vicky Spencer and Ilona Clifton on target.

However, in Division Four, Chiltern IIIs went down 6-0 at home to Berkhamsted & Hemel.

Meanwhile, Luton Vagrants went down 4-0 at home to Harpenden Vs in their East Men’s League Division Seven South West clash.
