HOCKEY: Luton Town HC earn cup win
The hosts controlled the game early on, but failed to break the deadlock.
It took a moment of brilliance from Matthew Corder to produce the opener as he dissected the Leighton defence and Cameron Bright netted with a simple slap shot.

Hide AdCameron Sarrington added the second, but Leighton reduced the deficit five minutes before the break.
In the second period, Tommy Kavanagh continued his fine form as he struck a post, before Town won a penalty flick as Cameron Bright was illegally denied, and Graham Bright stepped up to convert.
The final moments saw Luton wrap up victory as Bryn Owen found Graham Bright and he fired home to set up a third round tie at Phoenix & Ranelagh.
Meanwhile, the firsts had let a 3-0 lead slip as they lost 5-3 at home to Brentwood in their East Men’s League Division Two South encounter on Saturday.

Hide AdThe IIs lost 4-2 at Herford IIs in Division Four South West, the IIIs were 1-0 winners at Bedford Vs in Division Seven South West and the IVs were beaten 2-0 at home by Potters Bar IIIs in the same division.
Luton ladies enjoyed a 2-0 win over Saffon Walden IIs in their Fives Counties League Premier Division match as they climbed to third with goals from Suzanne Starkey and Jordan Homann.
The IIs lost 1-0 at home to Hertford IIIs in Division Three.
