HOCKEY: Luton Town juniors hold presentation night

Luton Town HC's junior section held their annual presentation evening last week to celebrate the achievements over the past season.

Players of the Year in each age group were Georgia Small, Alfie Sharp and Ellie Shadbolt-Mackay.

Goalkeeper of the Year went to Nathan Wise, while Most Improved Player was awarded to Hasnain Yaqub and Luke Whiting, with the Beginners’ Award won by Frank Tutton.

The Players’ Player awards went to George Dobson and Emma Halsey, while a Special Club award went to Antonio Katsianis for his enthusiasm and time spent helping other players and at club events.

Ex-Luton player Jordan Homann, who has recently been selected to represent England U16s squad and will attend the Annual 6 Nations Tournament in July, presented the awards and spoke to the youngsters too.

Meanwhile, the U8s and U10s took part in the Leighton Buzzard tournament on Sunday.

The U8s just missed out on the semi-final by one point after winning three, drawing two and losing one of their six matches. The U10s picked up two wins, one draw and three defeats from their matches
