HOCKEY: Luton Town Ladies hit back to draw

Luton Town HC Ladies were held to a 2-2 draw at Broxbourne IIs in their Five Counties Women’s League Premier Division clash at the weekend.

Broxbourne moved in front on four minutes, but Luton levelled immediately when, from a penalty corner, Suzanne Starkey found Jordan Homann, who fired into the net.

Their joy was short-lived though as Broxbourne were 2-1 in front with a well worked goal on 11 minutes.

Searching for an equaliser, Luton earned a penalty corner which saw Homann level with another stunning strike.

The IIs went down to a 2-1 defeat at Broxbourne IVs in Division Three, with Leah O’Shaughnessy on target.

Luton’s men were beaten 2-1 by Bedford IIs in their East Men’s Hockey League Division Two South contest.

The IIIs were handsome 8-0 winners over Stevenage IVs in Division Seven South West, while in the same league, Luton IVs triumphed 4-3 at Harpenden as Phil Bright scored a hat-trick, with Sam James also on target.

Chiltern Ladies got their third win of the season as they triumphed 4-0 at Potters Bar in Five Counties League Division Two to remain top of the table, with Emma Bright (2) and Alexis Broadway (2) scoring.

The IIs went down 6-0 to West Herts in Division Three, while Chiltern IIIs were defeated 5-1 at home to Potters Bar in Division Four.
