Saints looked stronger from the start as they took the lead, but Luton upped their game and created numerous chances.

Midway through the first half another a decisive break from Hertbert saw him burst away on the right flank and beat his man to the baseline, before pulling the ball back for Madden to coolly slot home on his reverse side.

Luton went through the gears as they started to dominate with Bright’s deflected effort from a short corner making it 2-1.

In the second period, the visitors upped their game as star man Herbert thundered a reverse stick effort into the bottom corner.

With Luton now in full flow, they went on the attack once more as James popped up to deflect a drilled shot home.

Meanwhile, the Luton Town juniors are holding their tournament on Sunday where they host teams from Tring, Bedford, Aylesbury, Leighton Buzzard, Shefford & Sandy and Letchworth.

The club are looking for new players too and have a friendly internal Summer League, with games starting in June. Contact Tricia Murphy on 07711 511729 or email: [email protected].
