HOCKEY: Luton Vets reach last 16

Luton Town men’s Vets won 3-2 at Norwich Dragons to ensure a last 16 place in the National Veterans Trophy.

The visitors started the game well as Chris Ryan converted a short corner to make it 1-0.

The second goal soon arrived when a cross was picked up by Matthew Dobson who netted with a reverse stick shot.

After the break, Norwich gained control of the game and scored twice to level.

It looked like the match was going to penalties, but with two minutes left on the clock a great move through the middle saw Perri D’Cruz find the unmarked Dobson in the middle of the D and he deflected the ball home.

Luton are now away to Northampton Saints in the next round.
