Holderness is on target with GB selection

MARKYATE archer Lucy Holderness has been selected to represent Great Britain at the FITA World Target Championships, which take place in Turin next month, writes Mike Simmonds.

The 46-year-old is an established international archer having previously competed in a host of tournaments, including the 2008 archery World Cup in the Dominican Republic, the 2011 Archery World Cup Indoor Challenge, while she is also the defending national women’s indoor compound champion.

Holderness faced two days of qualifying to make the squad, but was delighted when she made the cut.

She said: “There were hard days of shooting and the best three are selected. Luckily I managed to do well and make sure I got picked.”
