LDSC slump to double defeat

The fourth round of matches in the Beds League saw Luton & District Squash Club beaten at home by Flitwick, while the seconds also lost at home to David Lloyd of Milton Keynes.

In Division One, fifth string Matt Carey was edged out 3-2 by Alex Taylor.

Second string Phil Jenkins won the first game on a tie-break (20-18) against Trevor Keddo, but then saw his opponent win the next three games.

LDSC’s third string Craig Basham stopped the rot against Mark Trew, winning in four games. However, this was to be the last cheer of the evening as fourth string Scot Adam lost 3-1 against a relentless Simon Bloomfield.

A dead rubber then saw Matt Mulara lose 3-1 to Gary Milner.

LDSC travel to Bunyan next time out.

A depleted second team were also beaten 4-1 by David Lloyd.

Amy Rigby lost 3-1 against Puru Sharma, while new signing Steve McCoy was defeated 3-1 by Rohan Paranjpe.

Glenn Bush, making his debut this season at third string, ran veteran Tom Nanon close before succumbing 3-0.

The only win of the night came from captain Steve Wells at number two string, triumphing 3-2 over Tariq Syed.

An injured Steve Davies had to concede his game when level at 2-2.
