Luton AC crowned champions
Luton AC Senior Ladies produced a stunning performance to retain their British Athletics League Super8 Plate Trophy at Derby on Saturday.
Despite missing a few of their best athletes, the ladies performed brilliantly to pip Swindon Ladies in the last event to retain the trophy they won last year, finishing on 107 points ahead of Swindon (99pts), Stevenage & North Herts (73pts) and Newport (46pts).
The competition got off to a great start in the field with Sue Wise throwing a huge personal best in the discus as her distance of 35.57m was good enough for second place.
She showed this was no fluke, when also beating her PB in the javelin, throwing 21.23m to finish second.
