Luton divers challenge at G-Star

Luton Diving Club were in action in their fifth competition of the year, the G-Star, at the John Charles Centre for sport in Leeds last month.

The competition, formerly known as the Northern Cross has been renamed in remembrance of senior international diver Gavin Brown. The age-group/open event competition allows divers, who may be going into their first age-group, to compete in the same event as elite, World and Olympic level divers.

Entries included Junior World champion Jack Laugher plus Junior European champion Matty Lee and proved a fantastic experience for the club’s divers who have national age-groups and the qualifiers at regionals coming up.

All age-groups were to do six dives, three requireds with a limited DD and three optionals.

Five Luton divers made their debut as Oliver Simpson, Katherine Kerr and Katie Cripps all competed in the group D age group.
