Five young Dunstablians selected for Midlands

THE hard work of five Dunstablians U16 players has been rewarded with representative honours.

Reece Marshall (Manshead School), Josh Skelcey (Queensbury School), Lewis Jones (Adeyfield School), Julian Hensman (Bedford Modern School) and Clarke Davidson (Bedford School) have all been selected for this year’s Midlands squad and will now go on to trial for England U16s.

The boys, who also play for Northampton Saints Junior Academy, have put in plenty of hard work to gain selection for the East Midlands and then Midlands squads as just 24 of the 140 hopefuls were chosen.

Club chairman Graham White said: “Dunstablians are very proud to have achieved this great honour with lads that have been associated with the club from a very young age and where they learnt their basic rugby playing skills.”

Both the Midlands U16s’ games are at Broadstreet RFC.

The first is against the South West on February 4, while London and the South are the opponents two days later.
