MINIGOLF: Gottfried finishes third

Luton minigolfers Richard and Emily Gottfried closed out the 2013 British Minigolf Association Tour season at the nine-hole Basingstoke Golf Centre course.

In the BMGA British Club Championship on Sunday, Richard played for the Midlands Minigolf Club where and this three team-mates finished third for the third year running, while Emily and her Cambridgeshire Mini Golf Club team were ninth.

Richard captained the Midlands A team through to the semi-finals where they lost out to eventual champions Kent Minigolf Club.

In the bronze medal match, they faced the London Minigolf Club and won at the second extra hole of a sudden-death play-off.

In the 2013 BMGA Official Strokeplay Order of Merit rankings, Richard finished the season in 11th place from 163 players with Emily 48th.

In the 2013 BMGA Season Only rankings, Richard ended in 18th spot from 115 players with Emily 27th.
