Luton AC runner Rosie Keane continued her good form at the Silverstone 10k road race.
On the two lap course in gale conditions, the 23-year-old finished in overall 20th position out of over 1,000 runners, winning the ladies’ title by over two minutes in 36.07mins.
In-form John McDonnell also featured in another 10k – Europe’s largest – the Morrison’s Manchester 10k, with over 40,000 runners.
Behind the inevitable leading group of elite Kenyan runners, the televised event featured McDonnell in the chasing group containing the leading British road runners.
Fading slightly towards the end, he finished in a commendable 12th place in 29.28mins, agonisingly one second slower than his personable best.
However he did have the consolation of finishing in front of multiple world record holder from Ethiopia, Haile Gebrselassie.
