The penultimate Chiltern Cross Country League fixture took place at Campbell Park in Milton Keynes recently.

Luton Athletic club’s in-form Ian Kimpton made light of the wet conditions and steep hills to take an early lead.

Although Bedford’s Ryan Parker battled to stay in contention, Kimpton easily took his second successive victory to make him favourite for the individual title with one fixture remaining.

Daniel Woodgate, winner here last year, finished sixth with Tom Mead (22nd) and Rhys Lewis (33rd, and eighth junior), having good runs.

The U15 boys stayed in third with Luke King (fifth) and Callum Gardner their leading runners.

The Senior Ladies, without Rosie Keane, also remain third with Revee Walcott-Nolan in fifth and Christine Lathwell coming 10th.

Other notable runs came from Libby Jay (12th) in the U13 race with sister Leah (10th) in the U11s.
