MOTORSPORT: Nagy gearing up for a title challenge

The 17-year-old finished third behind Harry Truelove and Kurtis Butler in The Arthur Wheeler Cup, adding his name to a list of former members, such as Mike Hailwood and Barry Sheene.

Despite missing four races, one due to breaking his wrist at Snetterton, the teenager managed to pull back a 28 point deficit at the last race at Brands Hatch to claim third by two points and finishing seventh overall.

Nagy, who is still a junior in the MiniTwin class, managed three wins in the junior class and mostly top six finishes, plus a second overall at Donington.

The Bedford College student is a second year apprentice engineer at Millbrook Proving Ground and has been riding motorbikes since he was a a young boy, racing from the age of 11 on a 50cc Conti race bike on go kart tracks.

A fourth generation racer, James rides a Suzuki SV650 prepared by his dad Jamie, while Mark Draper at Haybuck motorcycles Woodside have supplied time at the races and parts for the bike free of charge.

Steve Grover at Motoscot of Woodside have sponsored the engine oils for the season, and Dirt Bikes in Dunstable have supplied tyres at a discount to help with the racing.
