Springboard to success for Dunstable sports star Andrea

Andrea, then a pupil of Brewers Hill School, had just won the British Under-11 Championships and been selected for the Great Britain team. She went on to attend Northfields School and win numerous national and international trampoline events before retiring from competition in 1996.

Today, Andrea is living in Beecroft Way, Dunstable, and is happily married to Russell Taylor. She has two children, Lewis and Lily, who have been particularly impressed to find that their mum is in the Guinness Book of Records (youngest person ever to compete for Great Britain) and to learn that she holds the Outstanding Endeavour Award presented by TV’s Blue Peter. And she has also met the Queen at Buckingham Palace...

Andrea was travelling with the GB senior trampoline team as manager until 2012 when she decided to take a time away from the sport after the death of her mother.

She became a national trampoline judge this year. A recent highlight in her career has been as commentator in front of thousands of people during the 2012 Olympic Games.
