Dunstable Town were held to a 1-1 draw at St Panteleimon in their SSML Premier Division clash on Wednesday evening.

The visitors made a dream start to the contest, leading after just two minutes when Isaac Olaleye’s pinpoint cross saw Joe Sellers-West open the scoring.

The influential Dylan Baker needed to be replaced by Dan Naylor, adding to the Blues’ injury list, as Ruari Mills also impressed despite limited minutes this term.

Vice-captain Harry Beaumont wore the skipper’s armband in the absence of Alfie Osborne and led by example with J’Ardell Stirling marking dangerman Dean Morgan, the former Luton Town player, well in the opening period.

After the break, eagle-eyed referee Jack Frost spotted a Dunstable hand connect with a direct free-kick inside the area after 68 minutes for a penalty which was neatly dispatched by ex-Hatter Morgan to give the home side a share of the spoils.

The result means Town are fifth in the table on 19 points, and still unbeaten, trailing leaders Crawley Green by seven points, but with four matches in hand.

Dunstable host Stotfold in the league this weekend and then entertain Moulton in the Gladwish Challenge Trophy on Tuesday night.
