RUGBY: Park lose out to Stewarts

Stockwood Park dropped to fourth in Midlands Three East South after losing 32-5 to a strong Stewarts & Lloyds Corby at the weekend.

The London Road men were 25-0 down at half-time after a bruising opening to the game.

Prop Casey Waterfield went over in the second half for Park, but it was too little too late as their hosts managed four tries, converting three, and slotting over two penalties.

Stockwood’s man of the match was flanker Tom Readfern as president John Humphreys said: “It was a touch of reality for the level we need to achieve to get promotion. We hope to pick up again next week.”

Park travel to Vipers this weekend.
