Life’s a pitch bemoans Luton Rugby boss Allen

Luton director of rugby Paul Allen was left to lament the condition of the pitch as his side lost 26-17 at Brentwood in London One North on Saturday, writes Ryan Lewis.

He said: “I have to say the luxury of having a pitch as good as the one at Newlands Road is highlighted when we visit pitches like we did on Saturday.

“The pitch definitely suited Brentwood and they deserved the win.”

Allen was also left disappointed by the outcome, as he added: “I’m bitterly disappointed with the performance on Saturday.

“Brentwood play a simple game and play to their strengths based around a big pack.

“We had opportunities but did not convert these chances unlike previous weeks.”
