The win was enough to maintain Luton’s push for a top two finish, something director of rugby Paul Allen is aiming for.

With the club only five points adrift, he said: “It’s up to us now, we know if we keep winning we won’t be far away from those top two positions.

“Our aim is to finish in those positions, and we’ll do everything we can to do that.”

And the Luton boss believes it was potentially the best showing by his side this term.

Allen added: “Our performance was one of, if not, the best of the season.

“We knew it would be tough coming here as they had only lost one match at home all season.

“In terrible conditions we controlled all aspects of the game and to come away with them not scoring a single point is very impressive, all this with a few key players missing.’
