The 15-year-old had seen Friday practice and qualifying go to plan resulting in pole position.

In race one, Scott led from the start to win by 10 seconds, before the afternoon session was hit by heavy rain.

Scott had another perfect start for the second race and gained a 10 second lead again, but thinking he was being caught by his rivals, the Lutonian lost his front wheel to ‘cascades corner’ with just one lap to go.

It resulted in a crash with the pit wall board, but thankfully the teenager emerged unscathed, although couldn’t finish the race,

Speaking afterwards, Scott said: “I can’t thank everyone enough for the support I’m getting. I know the whole team are as gutted as me for the slide off in race two and losing valuable championship points.

“However, with TeamJJ in my corner I know it’s only a matter of the next few rounds to get to the top of the leaderboard. I’d like to thank those that came along to the meet and helped out as it’s greatly appreciated.”

Despite the crash, Scott is still second in the leaderboard ahead of the next stage which is at Rockingham on July 30/31.
