Smith leaps to silver at Masters Pentathlon

Luton athlete Gary Smith won a silver medal at the Masters Pentathlon Championships held in Oxford at the weekend.

The 45-year-old produced an impressive performance in the long jump touching down with a huge 6.25m distance placing him second in the rankings for UK Masters and only 26cm away from the British record.

Smith also competed in the 200m, clocking 27.47secs and then the 1,500m, finishing in a time of 6:18.91mins.

Next up for the Lutonian is the Eastern Masters Outdoor Championships taking place next month, before the South of England Masters Outdoor Championships to be held in August.
