For the firsts, the fifth strings kicked off proceedings with Matt Carey against Dave Pugh from OU IIs.

Unfortunately for Carey, an ankle injury sustained early on curtailed his chances and he had to concede a 3-0 defeat.

LDSC were back in the tie though when fourth string Scot Adam used his experience to control a number of long rallies against John Wingfield, triumphing 3-0.

At third string, Craig Basham took on Steve Eyles and got off to a flying start and, although Eyles tried to come back he couldn’t as Basham won 3-0.

Second strings Phil Jenkins and Simon Percival were involved in a hard-fought battle, which Jenkins eventually managed to run out a 3-0 winner in to ensure victory for his side.

Last up were first strings Matt Mulara and Tomas Truelka. Mulara blitzed through the first with a string of winners, but then Truelka fought back, taking the next two games on tie-breaks and eventually sealing a 3-1 success.

LDSC IIs were also in action as they hosted Cleat Hill and enjoyed an 18-13 victory.
