SWIMMING: Palmer produces lifetime best

Qualifying for the event for the fourth year in a row, the 22-year-old went in the 100m breaststroke and was the only male representing swimmer from Bedfordshire.

Palmer swam on Friday morning in the final heat with an entry time of 1.03.58mins, where he produced one of his best ever swims.

He was sharing a pool with Adam Peaty, the World record holder in the 50m breaststroke and a Commonwealth medalist.

It pushed Palmer on to record a lifetime best of 1.02.52mins which saw him finish joint ninth and he is now ranked in the top 10 GB swimmers – a huge achievement for the club.
