Luton’s Sabrina Bakare ran her second fastest 400m time of the year at the same event.

The 20-year-old was in the heats and timed 54.98secs to finish in sixth place, although didn’t make the final.

It was still an impressive performance from the youngster though, who is coached by Jane Dixon, as she continues to make her comeback from a stress fracture in her tibia which kept her out for most of last season.

Afterwards, Bakare tweeted: “I was put in fire and came out unscathed! First British Senior Champs! Another sub 55 this year.”
