Two pantomimes for very different audiences are being staged by the same company at the same venue in Luton Thursday (January 7).
Jack and the Beanstalk tells the much-loved story of the humble farmer’s boy who overcomes all the odds and defeats the Giant but with a modern twist.
Director Eileen Kirby said: “Our hero Jack is unlike any you have seen before – he’s very much a modern lad whom youngsters will definitely be able to identify with. But we haven’t forgotten the traditional pantomime elements either: there’s fairies, magic, slapstick – something for all the family.”
The cast features a host of panto veterans plus some new and exciting young performers who are enjoying getting into the panto spirit. Music is provided a live band and features spectacular production numbers.
Once again the Griffins will be spending a five-figure sum to transform Venue 360’s Riverside Suite in Gypsy Lane.
But Jack and the Beanstalk is just half the story because the Griffins a simultaneously presenting another of their pantomimes specifically for adults.
The risqué production is based on Dick Whittington and features musical numbers, adult humour and a house band that promises to have audiences rocking in the aisles.
The productions run from today (Thursday) until Saturday January 16 at The Riverside Theatre, Venue 360, Gypsy Lane, Luton LU1 3JH.
Tickets from both productions can be booked at the Players’ website www.griffinplayers.co.uk or by calling the box office on 07906 075455.
