The hosts were ahead after 19 minutes through Andy Drury’s second goal of the season, before Luke Wilkinson doubled the advantage just after the half hour mark.

It looked like the game was up when Jonathan Smith’s drive was fumbled into his net by Chris Dunn, but Cambridge mounted an impressive fightback in the second period.

Johnny Hunt made it 3-1, while Robbie Simpson was on target with five minutes remaining, only for Luton to stave off any further scares and continue their push for back to back promotions.
