Luton claimed their fifth away win of the season with a 1-0 success at Birmingham City on Saturday, to move nine points clear of the relegation zone. Dan Potts' first half proved to be enough for the Hatters to return with all three points as he headed home on the half hour. To find out how the visitors rated on the afternoon, see below.
5. Amari’i Bell: 8
Stuck to his task well at the back as the Hatters were able to keep their misfiring hosts at arm's length for almost all of the contest. Didn’t have as many chances to bomb forward as he has done in recent weeks, although it was his ball out to Doughty that led to Luton’s winner. Photo: Cameron Smith
6. Alfie Doughty: 8.5
Has proved a terrific signing for Luton this season and a real source of creativity no matter what flank he plays on. Picked out Adebayo in the first half, before a wonderful cross from the left was perfect for Morris to meet with a downward header for the only goal of the game. Early booking didn’t seem to faze him either, getting back to time a sliding challenge to perfection after the interval. Photo: Cameron Smith
7. Marvelous Nakamba: 8
Has slotted in effortlessly to the holding role in front of the back four as continued to do so at St Andrew’s on Saturday. Made sure the City midfielders couldn’t ever get a head of steam going, ensuring there was little way through the centre of the pitch. Photo: Mark Thompson
8. Pelly-Ruddock Mpanzu: 8.5
Captain for the day showed his defensive qualities early on when getting in the way of a Chong blast with a brave block. Once Burke was forced off, he dropped into the back three and it didn’t weaken the Hatters’ rearguard. Still managed to get forward to deliver a terrific cross for Morris, but kept things tight as Luton remain infallible when defending from open play. Photo: Mark Thompson
