Luton saw their poor away run continue with a 2-1 defeat at Reading on Boxing Day. The hosts were 2-0 in front after a desperately disappointing first half from the Hatters, who despite having the better of the second period, could only pull one back late on through Kazenga LuaLua's long-range strike. To find out how the visitors rated on the afternoon, see below.
5. Sonny Bradley: 4
Didn’t allow the Royals a whole host of chances, containing the home attackers reasonably well, but crucially got dragged over when the hosts countered, allowing Semedo a free run on Shea to slot home what turned out to be the winner.
6. Glen Rea: 3
Passing wasn’t up to scratch in the first half as he gave it away cheaply and often, almost gifting the hosts a goal with one ill-judged attempt across his own area. No real surprise when he was one of the three who made way at half time.
7. Pelly-Ruddock Mpanzu: 3.5
One nice touch led to Cranie being fouled inside the area for the spot-kick Luton weren’t awarded, but struggled to have a significant impact on proceedings and made way midway through the second period for LuaLua.
8. Luke Berry: 4
Another who just couldn’t replicate the kind of form he has shown at home in recent weeks. Had a few sights of goal, as Luton upped their efforts in the second period, with one attempt blocked, putting another header straight at Rafael.
