After a season in which Town stayed in the Championship thanks in part to the efforts of three loan signings, Cameron Carter-Vickers, James Bree and Izzy Brown, it was time for Hatters fans to pick just who is the best player they have ever borrowed. The Luton News ran a poll selecting 15 of the top temporary arrivals and to see who was crowned the winner, see the results, in ascending order, below.
5. Joint 10th: Cameron McGeehan - 2%
Midfielder had two separate loan spells from Norwich City in 2014 and 2015, until he finally arrived on a permanent deal from Carrow Road, going on to play 106 times and score 31 goals for the Hatters.
6. Joint 10th: Jaroslaw Fojut - 2%
Moved to Kenilworth Road from Bolton Wanderers in January 2008 and played 23 times, scoring three goals as he impressed the Hatters fans. Saw his spell cut short when Town into administration though.
7. Joint seventh: Chris Martin - 3%
Headed to Luton from Norwich City at the start of the 2008-09 campaign and scored 14 goals in 51 games, including one in the memorable Johnstone's Paint Trophy Final victory over Scunthorpe United at Wembley
8. Joint seventh: Steve Sutton - 3%
Left Nottingham Forest for Luton in a loan deal during the 1991-92 season, keeping four clean sheets in his 14 appearances before being recalled to the City Ground and sold to Derby County for £300,000.
