The Hatters, who had already won promotion to the top flight a few weeks earlier, took the lead when midfielder Ricky Hill found the net. Steve White bagged his 18th of the season, with a David Moss penalty enough for the hosts to claim the three points needed to be crowned champions in front of 16,657 supporters at Kenilworth Road. 1. Jake Findlay
Scotsman played 34 games in the season, keeping 14 clean sheets as Town went up to the top flight. Made 187 appearances in total, as he eventually left in 1985 for Swindon Town.
2. Kirk Stephens
Nicknamed Basher the full back was one of four ever-presents that season as he enjoyed a superb career at Luton after following manager David Pleat to Kenilworth Road from Nuneaton.
3. Richard Money
Signed from Liverpool, the full back only made his debut in March, going on to start the final 13 games, scoring in the 2-2 draw with Rotherham as Luton didnt lose a single match during his run in the team.
4. Brian Horton
Skipper missed just the one game on his way to Town winning the Division Two title. Scored once, the winner against Cambridge United, as he enjoyed an excellent first season after signing from Brighton.
